About Our Modifications
Our modifications are based on Tom Turners Two Stroke Racing Software. This
software is used by many experts in the industry world wide. It has been proven
to be very accurate In terms of HP, within 2% of a Dyno. Years ago when
modifications were made to a two –stroke , everything was calculated out by hand
using formulas such as those from Dr Gordon P Blair. Now when calculating time
and area of each port the computer calculates it automatically, saving lots of
time and money. I use precise measuring tools when measuring an engine, such as
a digital vernier caliper. The more accurate your measurements are the more
accurate your HP readings are. There are other programs available too such as
Dynomation. This software is even more sophisticated, however it is only as good
as its user. It is based on pressure waves inside the engine, tells you how
efficient each port is , also what dimensions your pipe should be. With all this
knowledge and software available we feel that its not necessary to purchase a
Dyno. All engines are based on BMEP, brake mean effective pressure. It is a
function of temperature of the gases in the cylinder. The higher BMEP the more
HP the engine will make. That’s why we prefer to make steel pipes, they don’t
dissipate the heat like the light ones do.
Compression alone will do wonders to an engine, these engines have a BMEP below
100, just like a chainsaw. Some GP engines in bikes have a BMEP of 220. We are
currently producing about 4hp per cubic inch. For those of you who wish to do
your own mods, please feel free to ask, in the mean time good luck tuning your
engine.
